Using the F©û individuals obtained from B, campestris ¡¿ B. pekinensis and B. pekinensis ¡¿ B. pekinensis, induction of pseudogamy and the origin of pseudogamy were investigated, pollinating the pollen of B. oleracea to the former and R. sativus to the latter. The results obtained were as follows:
Individuals of pseudogamy showed the similar phenomena of F©ü segregation in their uniformity.
Ages of plant and flower give no influence on the induction of pesudogamy generally. Pseudogamy was induced least in the siliques on the terminal part on the floral branch, the induction rate gradually increasing toward basal part.
The bud poilination gives a high induction rate of pseudogamy, unexpectedly.
The temperature has no effect on the induction rate of pseudogamy.
In the F©ûplants of B. campestris ¡¿ B. pekinensis combination, the pseudogamy was induced in 78% of each pollinated plant; in the F©û plants of B. pekinensis ¡¿ B. pekinens is combination, the induction rate was 64%.
